I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, many of my clients use their out-of-network (OON) benefits to get partial reimbursement from their insurance company.
How it works:
A superbill is similar to an invoice, but it also lists the medical codes your insurance company requires for reimbursement. The most common CPT codes I use are:
Tip: Before starting, it’s a good idea to call your insurance provider to ask if your plan covers out-of-network psychotherapy. They may request the CPT codes or ask about the type of session.
WHY PAY OUT OF POCKET?
Some clients may elect to forego insurance for complete discretion or other reasons. (Invoices can still be provided for tax purposes.)
Note that FSA benefits can be used for payment of therapy sessions without requiring reporting to insurance.
I also offer a sliding scale for private-pay clients.
Pre-paid sessions with a bundle package can save you money.
60 minute therapy session for 2 or more clients being treated together for mutual relationship goals
Add-on therapy session in 30 minute increments to extend current session.
Payment is due at time of service. All major credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA are accepted and will be collected and filed, and payment will be charged on the date of scheduled session, or at the time of bundle / package purchase. Unfortunately, no refunds are available for package purchases, however I do my best to accommodate reschedules.
